Sri Wahidah Masturi, Director, Business Development
Graduated also from SHATEC, Sri Wahidah Masturi was part of the Fabulous Fizz team during her college days. Under the mentorship of Joylyn, she wanted to pursue a career in food & beverage after graduation. She was however offered a position as Conference Coordinator in the Conference & Catering Department at The Sentosa Resort & Spa, and this first step led to her climb and accumulation of almost 5 years of experience in sales & marketing:
- Sales & Marketing Manager of Unlisted Collection: Singapore
- Sales Manager of Millennium & Copthorne International
- Assistant Sales Manager of the Berjaya Hotels & Resorts
She later moved on to be part of the opening sales & marketing team of New Majestic Hotel, and became an integral part of the small and lean team.
Wahidah was asked to join Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, Singapore Sales Office, as an Assistant Sales Manager, to develop the corporate segment in what has always been a leisure-driven market. She independently developed a list of corporate accounts and created individual plans of action to penetrate these companies by specific industries. Wahidah also successfully achieved the monthly target set by the Corporate Office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and continues to actively pursue new responsibilities of tie-ups, following strategic marketing activities that focused on driving new business. She worked with the operations teams in each respective property closely to ensure complete customer satisfaction for her corporate guests.
Wahidah was then headhunted to join the Millennium & Copthorne International’s M Hotel Singapore, in the heart of the Central Business District, to focus and develop the potential in the Construction & Engineering sectors. Faced with male-dominated industries, she managed to generate incremental business by cold-calling on potential prospects and work diligently on the existing accounts to increase their production numbers within the hotel.
With the opening of a third hotel in Singapore by Unlisted Collection:, she was asked to step into the role of Sales & Marketing Manager, managing the sales & reservations department, as well as, handle marketing and PR-related matters. Familiarity might breed contempt for some, but she returned knowing that her passion runs deep for boutique properties. Wahidah’s flair for creative and innovative solutions, dogged insistence on the highest standards of customer care and hard work, leads her team to increase the hotels’ occupancy and average room rate to soaring figures. She has also been asked to assist with the setting up of the sales & reservations for a new-opened sister property in Shanghai.
